Mr. Wallen founded the law firm in 2004.  He has represented many clients before the Patent & Trademark Office and the federal courts in various intellectual property areas.   In addition, he has worked with numerous clients to resolve issues in the construction law arena.

As a licensed Chemical Engineer, distinguished Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers,  and Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at Howard University, Mr. Wallen is well versed in the interdisciplinary skills necessary to properly counsel and represent clients before state and federal agencies, particularly where highly technical issues are involved.   He is well versed in  the essential risk-based analysis.  In addition he is registered by Homeland Security on the Chemical Vulnerability Index (CVI), and is prepared to assist clients with their implementation of the new Chemical Facilities and Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS), Title 6 of the United States Code.  He is ready to assist clients with compliance, regulatory and inspection areas, armed with the most sophisticated risk analysis.  Mr. Wallen’s skills and expertise are equally applicable to litigation support.

He additionally served an internship with the Superfund Enforcement Division of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

In the intellectual property field, Mr. Wallen served 12 years as a Patent Examiner with the United States Patent & Trademark Office, where he examined biotechnology, electrical, chemical, and mechanical applications from a myriad of arts.   During his tenure at the Patent Office, he served in the Security Group, where new patent applications were screened for sensitive information and applications subject to a secrecy order were examined.
