His diverse client list has included institutional lenders, closely held corporations, opportunity funds, private equity funds, healthcare organizations and real estate developers and operators.

Paul has served as lead counsel in numerous challenging financing matters, ranging from small single asset deals to complex multi-lender/multi-billion-dollar transactions. He has also handled real estate transactions involving a broad range of property types and dollar amounts, with an emphasis on highly sophisticated transactions covering multiple properties valued at several hundred million dollars, including their acquisition, development, operation and leasing activities.

Major clients across several industries have relied on Paul to guide them through complex corporate and transactional matters, including Bank of America, Amegy Bank, BNP Paribas, Electronic Data Systems, H.R. Perot, HCA, The Richards Group, E2M Partners, Triple Peaks Resorts and Silverado Interests. He has also represented smaller clients in a wide variety of transactions and currently serves as outside general counsel to a multistate resort operations company.

Before joining Diamond McCarthy, Paul was a partner at then-Hughes & Luce LLP for more than 20 years. He is an active member of the American Healthcare Lawyers Association.
