Firm Summary

After having been an Examiner in the PTO, and working in Paris for a highly respected IP firm, Neil co-founded our firm, as a prosecution boutique. As the firm’s reputation grew and opportunities to expand our practice areas came our way, the firm began defending prosecution clients in District Court and ITC litigations in trade secret, patent and trademark matters. His litigation practice grew and has become the mainstay of his career.

He began by successfully defending ITC investigations, and others followed. As litigations multiplied, he has continued to actively litigate across the country in numerous District Courts – both jury and bench trials.

His entire career continues to involve litigating and counseling in contested matters of all types on an outside Counsel basis as well as pre- and during litigation in settlement negotiations.

He is an Adjunct Professor at the Centre d’Etude pour la Propriete Industrielle in Strasbourg, France where he lectures on US patent litigation. He also conducts a Masters seminar in Paris yearly on negotiation issues and strategy.

To effectively Counsel foreign clients it is useful to not only speak their language, but to understand the legal environments in which they operate. Through extensive travel throughout western Europe, he is sufficiently familiar with the legal frameworks facing clients in their own countries. His team is better able to understand concerns of such clients, and how they approach resolving issues that face them. His background in being able to contrast the different legal and cultural viewpoints is indispensable when counseling and negotiating on behalf of such clients. He speaks fluent German and French.
