Education
Nathaniel K. Charny received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Albany (magna cum laude, 1987) and his law degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Law (magna cum laude, 1991), where he was Note and Comment Editor of the Buffalo Law Review and Assistant Editor of In the Public Interest Law Journal.
Immediately following law school, he was appointed to a two-year position as Judicial Law Clerk for Hon. Alan N. Bloch, United States District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh (1991-1993).
Labor and Employment Legal Experience
Teaching Experience
Nathaniel has equally broad and varied teaching experience. He has enjoyed appointment as Adjunct Professor at CUNY Queens College, Labor Resource Center, where he taught classes with a focus on labor and employment law, constitutional law and civil rights. Nathaniel was appointed Assistant Professor at the Culinary Institute of America, where he taught senior-level classes in labor relations and human resource management, leadership and organizational behavior to students working toward bachelor degrees.
Civic Involvement
Nathaniel is an active member of the Rhinebeck Rotary Club, including leadership in the Nicaragua Project, an annual service and cultural immersion exchange with Rhinebeck High School students traveling to Leon Nicaragua.
Nathaniel is a founding Board Member of the The Rhinebeck Science Foundation and is President of the Board of Netroots Foundation.
