Lucas is an associate with Adler Pollock & Sheehan and a member of the firm’s litigation group. A trial lawyer admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, Lucas assists clients in civil matters involving complex commercial and business litigation, professional and medical malpractice law, employment disputes, real property disputes, and insurance defense and coverage issue cases. He has represented clients in courts and administrative agencies throughout New England, including chairing trials and administrative hearings, conducting depositions, and drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
In addition to his advocacy and litigation experience, Lucas served as a law clerk for the Honorable William E. Smith in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
Prior to his tenure at Adler Pollock & Sheehan, Lucas graduated magna cum laude from Boston College Law School and served as a Senior Editor of the Boston College Law Review. In April 2021, the Boston College Law Review published Lucas’s Note, The Internet and the Hobbs Act: What’s the Connection?, which addressed the Internet’s potential to substantially expand the realm of federal criminal law. Additionally, Lucas participated in the Boston College Civil Litigation Clinic, in which he represented indigent clients in various housing and family law matters.
Lucas has also worked in the political arena, working in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, participating on various campaigns, and interning for a United States Congressman.
