Firm Summary

Larry has spent his career advising corporations on business and legal matters both big and small. Graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Environmental Studies, Larry quickly became an industry leader in hazardous materials transportation compliance. After developing a hazardous materials compliance program for DaimlerChrysler Corporation and drafting hazardous materials transportation regulations adopted by both the U.S. Department of Transportation and the United Nations, Larry decided to pursue a law degree. Graduating with honors from George Washington University, Larry began his legal career in Washington, DC., where he interned at Barnes and Thornburg in International Trade. After graduation, Larry joined Thompson Hine as a Transportation Law attorney. Larry utilized his prior business experience to help clients manage legal risk and navigate complex regulatory matters impacting rail, truck and vessel transportation.

Before establishing Prange Law Group, Larry spent more than a dozen years as senior legal counsel, first for Whirlpool Corporation and then Gordon Food Service. Larry advised internal business clients in several areas, including Real Estate and Construction, Environmental Remediation, OSHA Compliance, International Trade, Transportation, Food Safety, and Corporate Governance. During this time, Larry also served as an officer of the Whirlpool Foundation and the non-profit Harbor Shores Community Redevelopment Inc.

Larry also founded a highly recognized non-profit community bike shop in Benton Harbor, MI. Cycle-Re-Cycle was established in 2010, with a mission of teaching people how to fix bikes, recycle used and discarded bikes, and promote cycling. Through the efforts of Cycle-Re-Cycle and its many volunteers, hundreds of kids from an economically depressed community have earned their own bike from Cycle-Re-Cycle, while gaining the knowledge and confidence to fix a bike.

Larry and his wife Suzanne are the proud parents of Patrick and Sophia. They all enjoy cycling, traveling, and Lake Michigan beaches. Larry also enjoys working on antique cars and taking the family on weekend drives in their 1931 Model A Ford.

Larry brings a wealth of experience and talent to the table including relationship building, teamwork, problem solving, and practical solutions to complex problems. On top of that, he’s also an excellent lawyer. Larry expertly combines business know-how with legal expertise to effectively service and counsel clients. Emily, Senior Corporate Counsel

I have had the great privileged of working with Larry. I found his pragmatic approach to working through legal issues during project of great help. I liked that he always seemed one step ahead during negotiations. Larry has not only a great work ethic but always seemed to be volunteering to do more for the community. He volunteered his time on the Boys and Girls Club projects and started his own charity, helping kids build bikes that they then got to bring home. I never knew how he found the time to do all that he did. A wonderful professional and human being. Scot, Enterprise Risk Manager
