Kevin Ross has been a member of the Georgia Bar since 1980. During the first two decades of his career, he practiced with Long, Aldridge & Norman; Hurt Richardson Garner Todd & Cadenhead; and Hunton & Williams. Since 2002, he has practiced law in his firm, strategically affiliating or co-counseling with other law firms on various legal and commercial matters, including Bryan Cave; Greenberg Traurig; Law & Moran; and Maynard, Nexsen.
Mr. Ross practices in the following areas: civil litigation; commercial arbitration; and local government law. His practice has included serving as general counsel to various entities, including ten years to the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority (during which time the Olympic Stadium, Turner Field and Philips Arena were developed) and thirty years to WABE, Atlanta’s public radio and television stations. His practice also includes representation of nonprofit organizations and small to medium-sized estates.
Mr. Ross has held various leadership positions in the community, including service on service on municipal, county and state entities. He chaired the 1994-95 City of Atlanta Charter Review Commission, which produced the charter under which Atlanta is still governed. Throughout the years he has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including longstanding service as a board member and officer of Public Broadcasting Atlanta (twice receiving recognition for distinguished board service). Currently, he serves as a board member and officer of John Marshall Law School; Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence; and Atlanta Victim Assistance. He was the Donald L. Hollowell Professor of Law at Emory University School of Law, teaching courses in Civil Rights and Election Law for five years. He is also a past president of the Gate City Bar Association.
Mr. Ross’ activities have also included successful management of numerous political campaigns, including mayoral, county executive, congressional, judicial and referenda authorizing funding for municipal infrastructure and educational projects. He has led several governmental transition committees.
Mr. Ross is an alumnus of Emory University School of Law (awarded the Distinguished Alumni award in 2000) and an Ivy League graduate of Dartmouth College.
