Outside the courtroom, she regularly provides practical, strategic, and tactical advice to clients by assisting them with an array of compliance matters, including auditing, developing, and executing policies and procedures to ensure sound business practices and to address regulatory changes, consumer demands, and industry standards, to respond to regulatory investigations and subpoenas, and to avoid future compliance issues.  She assists healthcare organizations, physicians, billing companies, and other entities with their revenue cycle integrity, including compliance evaluation and plan development, auditing and litigation support, coding, credentialing, medical billing, documentation and practice issues, billing service agreements, human resources, employment policies and procedures,  and risk management.

Ms. Messenger is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Texas, as well as the Colorado District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. Subsequently, she earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston—one of the best law schools in the country for trial advocacy.  During law school, she served as Associate Editor of the Corporate Counsel Review, Member of the Construction Law Journal and Advocate in the Advocacy Program.

She was selected by her peers for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2015 to 2016 and to Lawyers of Distinction. She is a member of the American Collectors Association, American Commercial Collectors Association, Houston Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, National Association of Women Lawyers, and The Federalist Society.
