Harvey B. Cooper has counseled large and small businesses on a variety of issues since starting at AKC Law in 1976. Harvey offers his clients extensive knowledge and experience on day-to-day manufacturing and retail issues, including drafting manufacturer supply agreements, licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, purchase orders, and other documents.

In his employment practice, he advises business clients on the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs for their employment procedures. He is fluent in federal and state laws impacting the workplace, such as compensation and exemption issues under the Wage and Hour laws, sexual harassment guidelines, employee drug and alcohol testing, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and discrimination in the workplace. He has extensive experience drafting employment agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, employee handbooks, employee policies and procedures, temporary staffing agreements, employment applications, and other employment-related forms and communications. He spends considerable time counseling clients on employment situations, including hiring, discipline, discharge, discrimination, compensation, and related problems. Harvey has presented at local and national seminars in various areas of employment law.

Harvey has over two decades of experience representing wireless telephone carriers and tower companies regarding the acquisition, zoning, and leasing of sites. He works with tower companies, and zoning authorities on wireless site issues and is involved in both the initial building and upgrading of wireless communication systems. Mr. Cooper has also counseled landowners on how to maximize revenue for leases proposed by carriers and tower companies that are not represented by him or this firm.

Harvey received his B.A. from Temple University in 1969. After serving as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Air Force, he graduated magna cum laude from the Creighton University School of Law in 1976.

He is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute where he is a member of the Employment Law Conference Planning Committee.  He served on the Federal Practice Committee for the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska and the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Harvey has been recognized by Super Lawyers in the area of Employment Law, Best Lawyers in America in the area of Corporate Law, and Martindale Hubbell as AV Preeminent.

Harvey is also a former director of Project Harmony, the Nebraska-Iowa Wireless Association, Beth El Synagogue, Beth Israel Synagogue and the Jewish Federation of Omaha.
