Upon arrival in Tampa Bay in 1998 after serving as an active-duty combat officer and attorney in the United States Army, Mr. Schuett worked as an associate at two of the area’s top business law firms before opening Schuett Law Group in 2001. Schuett Law Group was built with a dual emphasis: representing businesses and representing individuals in estate planning.

The practice provided Mr. Schuett with additional, extensive experience in drafting wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorneys, and living wills, which he had been working on since his time in the United States Army. Mr. Schuett has drafted thousands of legal documents, including service contracts, employment contracts, real estate contracts, construction contracts, leases, promissory notes, mortgages and deeds.

During his career, Mr. Schuett has served as outside corporate counsel for well over 300 companies in every step of the way, from starting a business to operating agreements/shareholder agreements and reviewing franchise agreements, and providing critical counsel to the businesses as they grew. He has participated in the sale of over 50 businesses, drafting and reviewing multiple buy-sell agreements, and handling the closing of such sales.

Finally, Mr. Schuett has extensive experience in resolving all types of disputes. Specifically, he has successfully performed construction-related litigation, as well as arbitration, trying over forty 40 such cases, including two intellectual property cases exceeding five million dollars in damages. This litigation and trial experience also includes successfully defending individuals and businesses from frivolous lawsuits.

Mr. Schuett is a member of the American Association for Justice. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
