Alan G. Orlowsky, C.P.A., J.D., is the president of Orlowsky & Wilson, Ltd. Since 1980 he has helped individuals and small business owners plan for their future, build and preserve wealth, and minimize tax liability. His clients have ranged from young couples starting their families, to retired individual taxpayers and Fortune 500 corporate executives.
Alan is admitted to practice law in Illinois, Federal District Court, and Federal Tax Court.
From Alan´s vast experience as a Chicago attorney in solving a wide range of legal problems, he can share with you the effective strategies that have worked for others. His greatest strength, though, is his creative approach to finding innovative solutions that transform legal challenges into opportunities.
Alan received his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in Champaign, and upon graduation passed the CPA exam. He then earned his law degree at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and passed the Illinois bar exam in 1975.
From 1975 to 1978, Alan worked with the Internal Revenue Service as an attorney in the Estate and Gift Tax Division. His responsibilities included auditing federal estate tax and gift tax returns. During his tenure with the IRS, Alan was also a part-time instructor of accounting, taxation, and business law at Northeastern Illinois University School of Business. He then took a position with Deloitte & Touche as a tax professional and subsequently joined the faculty of Loyola University of Chicago School of Business, where he taught taxation and accounting. Alan established his own law practice, A.G. Orlowsky, Ltd., in 1980. He transferred his practice to pursue other goals and recently established Orlowsky & Wilson, Ltd.
Alan is a contributing author to the book 21st Century Wealth: Essential Financial Planning Principles (Quantum Press, Denver, 2000). He is the author of dozens of articles on the topic of estate planning and has been interviewed on Bloomberg Business Radio as well as local radio and TV business news programs.
