Jaime A. Torrens-Dávila is a Member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. As a litigator, Jaime practices extensively before the federal and state courts of Puerto Rico, both at trial and appellate levels. He also represents clients in administrative proceedings and alternative dispute resolution methods, such as arbitration and mediation.

Jaime concentrates in complex civil and commercial litigation, and has significant experience in a broad range of disputes, including: contracts, distributors (Law 75) and sales representatives (Law 21), antitrust and trade regulation, commercial collections and foreclosures, class and group actions, insurance and subrogation, torts, products liability, aviation law, medical malpractice and EMTALA, motor vehicle accidents, personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights, and constitutional law. Due to his proficiency in class and group action litigation, he co-authored The International Comparative Legal Guide to Class & Group Actions, Puerto Rico Chapter (2014), published by the Global Legal Group Ltd., London, and also collaborated in the 2015 edition.

With over a decade of experience, Jaime has solid advocacy skills and a wealth of knowledge in complex civil and commercial litigation. The vast experience attained over the years has provided him with adequate tools to think and write about complicated legal issues and maintain the poise and confidence to stand up in court. He strives to obtain the disposition of cases through motion practice and effectively handles settlement negotiations on behalf of clients. He also has significant experience in appellate brief preparation and practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In the dispute resolution arena, Jaime excels and consistently shows the ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situations.

Before joining Ferraiuoli in 2017, Jaime was a Junior Partner of the Litigation Practice Group of Adsuar Muñiz Goyco Seda & Pérez-Ochoa, P.S.C., and previously worked as an Associate Attorney at Indiano & Williams, P.S.C., a boutique firm focused on federal civil practice, where he also served as law clerk during his second and third year of law school.
