Alan M. Briskin is the founder and managing member of Briskin, Cross & Sanford, LLC, a general business and commercial litigation law firm. Alan’s practice focuses on the representation of emerging technology companies and privately held businesses. He works with these companies in deciding how to structure their initial entity, raise money, protect the entity and owners from various types of liability and the transactions connected therein. In addition, Alan represents companies in structuring mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, banking transactions, intellectual property, and licensing. Alan also advises numerous clients in general corporate, commercial, and employment litigation.
Being a business partner and confidant is equally important as providing legal advice and services. Alan has recognized that this is a key ingredient to a successful partnership with his clients. In this vein, he provides helpful resources and referrals, coaching and mentoring, and much needed time and attention to all of his clients.
Prior to founding Briskin, Cross & Sanford, LLC, a firm which was known for eight years as Briskin & Associates, L.C., Alan was a founding partner of Briskin & Rinde, a corporate and technology law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Alan received his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and his B.A. from the University of Maryland in Government and Politics. Alan is a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity, in which he held numerous positions including President of his campus chapter and was recognized nationally as the Tau Beta Man of the Year. Prior to entering private practice, Alan worked as a Staff Attorney for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C. , where his responsibilities included handling employment discrimination, intellectual property and general litigation matters. Alan is admitted to practice in the States of Georgia, Florida and Maryland . He also belongs to numerous professional associations including the American Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the Maryland Bar Association.
Alan lives in Johns Creek, Georgia with his wife and two children. Alan enjoys playing a wide variety of sports, coaching junior teams, and is very active within his community. Alan was also a founding member of the Steering Committee of the 400 Technology Connection.
