Dan was born in Sioux City and grew up on a family farm in northeast Nebraska near Hubbard. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1978 and his law degree from the same institution in 1981.

Dan is a trial lawyer, representing a diverse clientele in complex civil litigation in the state and federal courts of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. His trial work is varied, involving numerous areas of interest such as trusts and estates, employment, construction, business, personal injury and worker’s compensation.

Dan also represents a number of businesses and farm clients regarding their day-to-day activities as well as helping them from a business and estate planning perspective.

Dan is a member of the state bar associations of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. He is a former member Iowa State Bar Association Board of Governors and a past board member of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys. He was inducted into the Iowa Academy of Trial Attorneys and has received an AV Preeminent designation from Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings.

Dan and his wife Eileen have three children. Dan has been a resident of the Siouxland area since joining Crary Huff in 1981. He has been active in numerous civic, charitable and religious organizations in Siouxland since that time. Dan’s personal interests include reading, travel, golf and a lifelong passion for Cornhusker football.
